Each shopping area offers a different Johannesburg experience. Restaurant locations and opening hours can change, so reserve directly before planning a special meal.

Mall of Africa

Best for scale and variety. The modern Waterfall City landmark has hundreds of stores, broad international fashion choices and an open-air Town Square.

Best for luxury shopping. Explore the Diamond Walk, major international labels and the adjoining Nelson Mandela Square, all within an easy walk of Sandton Gautrain station.

Where to eat: TANG on Nelson Mandela Square offers high-end Japanese and Cantonese-inspired dining; Trumps is a long-established steakhouse. Saint is another upscale option a short walk away at The Marc.

Best for a compact, walkable visit. Combine the mall and The Zone with the African Craft Market, galleries and the surrounding Keyes Art Mile.
